Each year our students head away from Rocky Top for their spring break. Some go home while others travel around the country and world.
This is a time for students to relax and have fun. But we know that sometimes this can be a dangerous time for students from traveling alone to being in a new place.
The Center for Health Education and Wellness hosts an event to help prepare students for their time away from campus.
Safe Spring Break offers students food, tank tops, and fun giveaways. The only catch is that students have to visit booths to learn about spring break safety. They discuss sun safety, healthy drinking habits, and consent. They also give students tips on how to be an active bystander.
This event has been popular the past couple years. The center also continues their efforts by posting about the topics on social media.
